主題：Intership 101 -- The Taming of the Students

今天演講 不知道是不是因為實習已經迫在眉睫的關係
是我覺得最有收獲的演講
雖然之前也聽了好幾位學長姐回來分享有關實習的經驗
可能是因為之前的學長姐都講的太"美好" 太"順利" 或是 太"完美"
又或者是他們都主要在分享 "成果" 多過於 "真實的過程"
會讓我覺得雖然聽完了他們的演講
可是還是覺得他們分享的內容離自己有一點點遠
感覺學長姐們都太優秀 而他們的學生也都超優秀
似乎與自己印象中的實習差太多了
但是今天這位學長的分享就"真實"許多
跟我們記憶中經歷過的國高中時期也很符合
而且學長給的很多建議也都很實用
FIRST
學長提到身為一位老師該有的原則
Principles: 3P (Professional, Powerful, Precise)
Professional:當老師就是要把自己所知道的通通教給學生 有了專業姓學生也才會相信你 尊重你
Powerful:老師們並不需要總是板著臉孔 或是臭著一張臉 一天到晚都在罵人 只要溫柔而堅定 其實就可以很有力量
Precise:老師一堂課裡面要講很多的話 但是話多不如說的話清楚且簡單易懂 這樣學生也比較能有明確的依循
SECOND
學長提到的是當剛接觸到新的班級時在最短時間內該了解的事情
1. class types (girls, boys, coed, gifted)
2. students' names
3. Who is the homeroom teacher? class leader? English TA?
4. What is the class comic?
5. Is there any special need student in class?
6. Get familiar with weekly class schedule.
我想這些在下禮拜見過附中的指導老師之後就會用到了
THIRD (other preparations)
1. Prepare self-introduction for the first class. (including expectations toward the class, rules in class, and most importantly, make sure to look cool, not FOOL.)
2. Send the procedures of the class to the advisor once in a while and discuss the procedures with peers, too.
3. Make rehearsals. (Practice time planning and time controlling; prepare conversation topics and short funny videos downloaded.)
4. Give out a feedback questionnaire at the end of the intership.
I think all theses pieces of advise are quite useful and I will carry out every of them during my intership.
I will also do the mentality establishment to cheer up myself.
"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about."
