10/11 How to Teach Listening & Reading
又進入這個熟悉的主題了
現在依稀還記得在上學期教材教法有學過
Comparing to learning those teaching methods,
for me, learning how to teach students with different proficiency levels and needs is much more practical and authentic. This is truly what a teacher-to-be needs.
(But, I am not saying that those teaching methods are not important.~~)
Actually,after reading the handouts,
I soon find out that there are some similar patterns in both listening and reading.
Or in other words,
they are the rules or tips teacher had better follow to help students learn in a more efficient way.
For example,
teachers first need to set some goals for students when they start to learn a new language skill
and the goals will gradually become more challenging.
Generally, the first goal is to get general/main ideas about the learning materials.
Later comes looking for details.
When students are doing better and better, they will be asked to have extensive listening and reading.
This way is like babies' growing stages.
First, they learn to turn themselves over. Second, they learn to sit.
Third, they learn to climb, stand, walk and so on.
Each procedure is a milestone. It will ensure that you can go on to the next stage.
Therefore, learning is not like buying a product or making a wish to the lamp of Aladdin.
You want it and you get it immediately.
However, learning costs your time, energy and willingness to learn.
One day, everyone all has the chance to achieve his goals.
